dc.description.abstractBu çalışma bireylerin ezoterik topluluklara dahil olma güdülenmeleri ve toplulukla ilişkilenme süreçlerini konu edinmektedir. Çalışma konuyu, ezoterik topluluklardan Masonluk örneğinde irdelemeye çalışır. Toplum nazarında bilinmezliğiyle malul bir topluluk olduğu varsayılan Masonların Masonluk deneyimine odaklanılmaktadır. Türkiye‟de iki farklı Masonik örgütlenme tespit edilmiştir. Çalışmada bu örgütlenmelerden biri olan Özgür Masonlar Büyük Locası‟nın üyeleriyle yüz yüze odak grup görüşmeleri gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmada Masonların deneyimlerini anlamaya dönük bir perspektif benimsenmiştir. Masonluk; Masonluğun ritüelik formlarını kapsayan içsel, kamusal yaşamlarını kapsayan dışsal özelliklerine göre ele alınıp değerlendirilmiştir. Masonlara ilişkin demografik verilere de ulaşılan çalışmada Masonların orta ve orta-üst gelir grubundan kişiler olduğu ancak cemaate girmek için ekonomik sermeyenin yeterli olmadığı kültürel sermayenin de en az ekonomik sermaye kadar önemli olduğu saptanmıştır. Masonluk ezoterik sır ve sosyal sırlarıyla (gizlilik), kendi içerisindeki çatışmalara rağmen, Masonlar tarafından bireyselliklerini ve kamusal yaşamda varlıklarını kendi benzerleriyle garantiye aldıkları bir güven ortamı olarak yaşanmaktadır. This study discuss the motivation of individuals to be involved in esoteric communities and the processes of engagement of individuals with the community. The study tries to examine the subject in the example of Freemasonry from esoteric communities. The focus is on the Freemasonry experience of the Masons who are assumed to be an unknown community in the society. Two different Masonic organizations in Turkey have been identified. In this study, face-to-face focus group meetings were held with the members of one of these organizations, the Özgür Masonlar Büyük Locası. In this study, a perspective which aims to understand the experiences of Masons, has been adopted. Masonry has been evaluated according to its internal features including the ritualistic forms of Freemasonry and external features including public life. In this study, demographic data about the Masons were also acquired and it was found that the Masons were middle and middle-upper income groups, but the economic capital was insufficient to enter the community, and cultural capital was at least as important as the economic capital. In spite of the conflicts within the esoteric secret and social secrets (privacy), Freemasonry is experienced by the Masons as an environment of trust in which they guarantee their individuality and existence in public life with people like themselvestr_TR
