Lease continued to develop by Truman Doctrine and Marshall Plan aids and carried Turkey to NATO membership. The military aids made during this process affected Turkey's national defense industry's growth negatively; the changes in Turkish Armed Forces in the fields of organization, administration, training and logistics took place; this influenced TAFs reorganization and modernization in relatively positive direction, meantime cultural and psychological effects on TAF staff and the national defense industry was negative. As a result of these developments, the Turkish army largely has been tied to the American arms industry.
