Abstract

"The Comman Tunes and Their Usage Fields in Turkish Minstrelhood Tradition and Turkish Sufic Music"; MA. Thesis ( Adviser Yrd.Doç.Dr. Ruhi Kalender, A.Ü. Divinity School), İV+46 pp. This thesis investigates the common tunes and their usage fields in Turkish minstrelhood tradition and Turkish sufic music. It has an introduction, three chapters and conclusion. The introduction explains the aim of the topic and its importance. It also informs about minstrelhood tradition before and after Islam, concept of poet and minstrel and it insist sufic aspects of Turkish poets. It besides informs about sufism, sufic music and islamic music. The first chapter studies some basic views concerning "ayak" (rhyme) and "makam"(tune), the difference between "ayak" and "makam", the oneness of the orijin in THM, TSM and Turkish Sufic Music. This chapter also examines folk songs as system, caesura, octave and tunel structure. The second chapter deals with the tunes in minsrelhood tradition and Turkish sufic music. This chapter introduces "poet tunes" and "tunes used in Turkish sufic music". The third chapter, as the most orijinal part of the thesis, investigates the common tunes and their usage fields in Turkish minstrelhood tradition and Turkish sufic music. In this chapter the common tunes in strict sense has shown by form. The last part of the third chapter shows the usage fields of tunes which used in minstrelhood tradition and sufic music tradition. b4»d iiw
