| dc.description.abstract | Hıristiyanlığı benimseyen ilk Cermen halkı olmakla tarihte önemli bir iz bırakan Gotlar, bu özelliklerini büyük oranda Ulfilas isimli piskoposa borçludur. Ulfilas hakkında, Got tarihinde bilinen en meşhur isimlerden birisi olması nedeniyle birbirinden oldukça farklı bilgilere rastlanmaktadır. Bu farklı bilgiler hem Ulfilas'tan bahseden az sayıdaki Geç Antik Çağ eserinde hem de modern çalışmalarda karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Çalışmamız, bu farklı bilgiler arasından Ulfilas'ın hayatına, statüsüne, faaliyetlerine ve Gotların Hıristiyanlaşmasındaki etkisine dair özgün bir fikir beyan etmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Böylesi bir çalışma sadece Gotların IV. yüzyıldaki durumuna ilişkin bir fikir ortaya koymakla kalmayacak, Avrupa'nın kimliğini oluşturan özelliklerinden birisi olan Hıristiyanlığın, bu topraklarda nasıl bir geçmişinin olduğuna dair bir perspektif sunacaktır. | tr_TR |
| dc.description.ozet | The Goths, who left an important trace in history by being the first Germanic people to adopt Christianity, owes these characteristics to a bishop named Ulfilas. Since he is one of the most famous names in Gothic history, there are quite different informations about Ulfilas. This different informations appear both in the few Late Antiquity works mentioning Ulfilas and in modern studies. Our study aims to express an original idea about the life, status, activities of Ulfilas and his influence regarding the Christianization of the Goths among these different informations. Such a study will not only give an idea about the situation in the 4th century but also will present a perspective on the history of Christianity in these lands, which is one of the features that make up the identity of Europe. | tr_TR |
