| dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this research is to determine the General Principles of the Landscape Planning of the Zoos. For this purpose, various information is obtained from different zoos and from private agenties which plan zoos in Turkey and all around the world. According to the results obtained from considering these information, the general principles of landscape planning of zoos in Turkey where determination terms of visitors design and exhibition. Factors such as urban population, the number of people to be served public trasportation exhibitation of animals and experiments conducting the need for growth are important factors in the determination of suitable areas for zoos. The intention of present day zoos include recreational, educational, conservational, economical benefits and research. Two contradictory needs have to be met in the zoos; These are the needs of the animals and the needs of the visitors. It is very difficult to generalize zoos from an architectural point of view as the placement and size of zoos and the environmental factor such as climate, humidity differ from one place to another. Zoos in urban settlements are mostly limited in size. Thus the land use within these zoos should be determined in an efficient way. These are various approaches to the planning process and implementation of zoos creation of natural environments for the animals has become the fundemental principle of current zoo designs.Key Words: Zoo garden, landscape planning, plant design | tr_TR |
| dc.description.ozet | Bu araştırmanın amacı, hayvanat bahçeleri peyzaj planlamalarındaki genel prensiplerin belirlenmesidir. Bu amaçla dünyadaki ve ülkemizdeki bazı hayvanat bahçeleri ile hayvanat bahçesi planlayan ve tesis eden özel kuruluşlardan çeşitli bilgiler elde edilmiştir. Bu bilgilerin değerlendirilmesinden ortaya çıkan sonuçlara göre, ülkemizdeki hayvanat bahçeleri peyzaj planlamalarında göz önünde bulundurulması gerekli genel prensipler; ziyaretçilerin beklentileri, sergileme ve tasarım yönlerinden ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır. Kent nüfusu, hizmet edilecek kişi sayısı, kamu ulaşımı, hayvan sergileme ve deney olanakları büyüme ihtiyacı gibi etkenler yer seçiminde belirleyici olur. Günümüzde hayvanat bahçeleri, rekreasyon, eğitim, koruma, arastama ve ekonomik fayda gibi amaçlan taşırlar. Hayvanat bahçeleri genellikle birbirine zıt iki gereksinimi karşılamak zorunda kalır. Hayvanların gereksinimi vs ziyaretçilerin gereksinimi; hayvanat bahçelerinin yeri, büyüklüğü, dağılımı yerleşmiş gelenekleri ve iklim, nem gibi çevre koşullan o kadar değişiklikler gösterir ki mimarlık açısından genellemeler yapmak zordur. Bugün hayvanat bahçelerinin çoğunluğunu oluşturan kent içi hayvanat bahçeleri zorunlu olarak sınırlı büyüklüktedir ve bu nedenle ellerindeki alam en verimli kullanmak zorundadır. Hayvanat bahçeleri planlama süreçlerine ve uygulamalarına çok çeşitli yaklaşımlar gözlenmektedir.
