Abstract
This research was carried out at the Experimental Farm of Faculty of Agriculture, Ankara University, during 2007. Gökçe chickpea variety was used as material in the experiment. The objective of this research was to study the effects of CCC (Cycocel) doses (0, 300, 600, and 900 ppm ) on yield and yield components of chickpea at different growth stages (three leaves stage, flowering stage and grain filling stage ).According to the results; the three- leaves stage application and 300 ppm CCC shortened plant height, and 600 ppm CCC application has the greatest grain yield . The highest hundred grain weight was obtained from the flowering stage application, and the highest values of the number of pods/plant were occurred in 600 ppm CCC application. 600 ppm CCC at the three-leaves stage and flowering stage positively affected biological yield, and the differences between CCC application time and doses, and time x dose intereaction. The greatest values were obtained from 600 ppm CCC application and with the flowering stage in pod height. 600 ppm Cycocel application at flowering stage increased the number of seeds per pod. Though grain protein content had the greatest values in non-cycocel application, the flowering stage cycocel application had the best values. 300 ppm CCC application at flowering stage increased plant biological yield. The mean values obtained for traits from all CCC applications were was as follow :hundred grain weight 38.97- 40.90 g, plant height 27.23-30.55 cm, biological yield per plant 6.42-9.28 g, grain yield per plant 2.86-4.03 g, the number of pod per plant 7.21-8.97, pod length 2.27?2.37 cm, the number of seed per pod. 0.93?1.00, grain protein content % 27.88?29.90, harvest index % 40.40?42.91It was concluded that the 600 ppm CCC and flowering stage cycocel application had major effect on the yield and yield components.
