Abstract
Hâkânî Mehmet Bey who lived in 16th century in Istanbul and died at the beginning of the 17th century at 1606, is a representer of classic poetry. Hilye which makes him well-known in our literature, a translation of forty hadith Miftâhü'l-Fütûhat and an arrenged Dîvân are three works, remained our times from the poet. In this study, the religious and sufistic concepts in Dîvân of Hâkânî Mehmet Bey are handled. Dîvân is read from the beginning to the end, in regard of the relationship between concepts, the usage of concepts in various meanings from the poet are ascertained in the light of apropriate resources. Poems in Dîvân show us that Hâkânî is a poet who obeys the rules of religion and loves Allah, prophet and his family/Ehl-i Beyt. In this context, he makes lots of quotations from verses and hadiths, wrote two na't and poems about praise of Âl-i Abâ, Kerbelâ, being Alevî and Murtazavî. The concepts in this perspective are worked out under the main title of "Religion" and in subtitles of Allah, angels, prophets, books, fate, other religious words and personalities, verses and hadiths. Hâkânî, believes that religion is not a compound of external rules but it has an esoteric way emphesises heart and soul. He understands, the whole cosmos as a mirror where God's reflection can be seen and looks at in love. Although he is not a sufî, he takes the sufistic concepts in terms of "vahdet-i vücûd"/transcendent unity of being doctrine.
