Abstract
After the 1071 Malazgird victory Turkish settlement in and around Kastamonu caused a new Turkification process and a lively period in Anatolia. After the occupation of Çobanoğulları for a century, Kastamonu was dominated by Candaroğullan in the first half of the 14th century during the reign of the Şemseddin Yaman Candar the center of the principality was Eflani but Süleyman Paşa I. appointed the center to Kastamonu. During the Candaroğullan reign, Kastamonu was developed and this was brought new inhabiting areas with population increase. Generally the vards were settled and developed arround the religious and social buildings in Kastamonu. Mostly the vards were called with the names of small mosque or dervish lodge and cell of the recluse. This shows that the remains of foundation is very important in social life. Commercial activities which were begun after the conquest of the Sinop by Selçuks developed further in Kastamonu as statesmen built foundation remains as if Turkish baths, large commercial buildings, mosques, medreses and cells of the recluse in the city. Kastamonu was acquired fame with cheap and abdundant property among the Anatolia cities because of commercial and industrial developed. There was a high level development of the sosyo-economic and also there was advances in the science life during the period of Ismail Bey. During the reign of the Candaroğullan inhabitance policies followed systematically in and around Kastamonu of it. The region Turkificised by the settled cells of the recluse and various, foundations.
