dc.description.abstractTürkiye’de meydana gelen siyasal, toplumsal ve askerî gelişmeler sonucunda; saltanat ve hilafetin birbirinden ayrılarak saltanatın kaldırılması ve sonrası siyasal olaylar İtalya’da merak ve dikkatle takip edilmekte, bu gelişmeler İtalyan basınında yer alan haber ve yorumlar vasıtasıyla İtalyan kamuoyunun dikkatine sunulmaktadır. İtalyan basınında yer alan haberlerde başlangıçta saltanatın kaldırılması genel olarak olumlu karşılanmakta ancak dünya Müslümanlarından gelebilecek olası tepkilere dikkat çekilmektedir. İtalyan gazetelerinde yer alan haberlerde bir süre sonra dünya Müslümanları tarafından saltanatın kaldırılması fiili durumunun kabul edilmiş olduğu kaydedilmektedir. Saltanatın kaldırılması ve sonrasında Vahdettin’in İstanbul’u terk etmesinin Türkiye’de memnuniyetle karşılandığı ifade edilen haberlerde, cumhuriyetin ilan edilmesi ihtimalinin yüksek olduğu belirtilmektedir. Bu dönemde İtalyan gazetelerinde; Türkiye’de saltanat-hilafetin tarihi süreci ve mevcut statüsü ile olası gelişmeler İtalyan okuyucuların anlamasını kolaylaştırmak için Vatikan ile geçmişte yaşanan olaylar ile kıyaslanarak açıklanmakta ve buna bağlı yorumlar yapılmaktadır. Bu çalışmada Türkiye’de saltanatın hilafetten ayrılarak kaldırılması ve Vahdettin’in Türkiye’yi terk etmesi ile sonrasında ortaya çıkan sürecin İtalyan basınındaki yansımaları, İngiliz diplomatik belgeleri, dönemin İtalyan basınında yer alan haber ve yorumlar ile telif eserlerden istifade edilerek açıklanmıştır. As a result of the political, social and military developments in Türkiye; the separation of the sultanate and the caliphate and the abolition of the sultanate and the subsequent political events are followed with curiosity and attention in Italy, and these developments are brought to the attention of the Italian public through the news and comments in the Italian press. In the news in the Italian press, at the beginning, the abolition of the sultanate is generally reacted positively, but attention is drawn to possible reactions from the Muslims of the world. It is also noted in the news in Italian newspapers that after a while, the actual situation of abolishing the sultanate was accepted by the Muslims of the world. It is stated in the news that the abolition of the sultanate and Vahdettin's subsequent departure from Istanbul was welcomed in Türkiye, and that the possibility of the declaration of a republic is high. During this period, in Italian newspapers; the historical process and current status of the sultanate-caliphate in Türkiye and possible developments were explained by comparing them with past events with the Vatican, and comments were made accordingly, in order to facilitate the understanding of Italian readers. In this study, the reflections on the Italian public of the process that arose after the abolition of the sultanate in Türkiye by separating it from the caliphate and Vahdettin's leaving Türkiye were explained by making use of British diplomatic documents, news and comments in the Italian press of the period, and copyrighted works.
