Geri dönüşümlü kolistin nefrotoksisitesi: olgu sunumu

Abstract

Hem toplum kökenli hem de hastane kökenli gram negatif bakteri enfeksiyonları ciddi morbidite ve mortalite nedenidir. Ancak yeni geliştirilen antibiyotikler pek olmadığı için toksik yan etkileri bulunan eski antibiyotikler tekrar kullanılmak durumundadır. Bunlardan bir tanesi de hem nefrotoksik hem nörotoksik yan etkisi bulunan kolistindir. Özellikle nefrotoksisite yan etkisi nedeniyle kolistin kullanımında ciddi sıkıntılar yaşanabilmektedir. Bu makalede, kolistin kullanımı sonrasında geri dönüşümlü nefrotoksisite gelişen bir olgu sunulmuştur.

Both nosocomial and community acquired gram-negative bacterial infections cause serious morbidity and mortality. However, old antibiotics, which have toxic side effects, should be re-used because of the lack of newly developed antibiotics. One of these is colistin which has both nephrotoxic and neurotoxic side effects. Especially due to nephrotoxicity side effec, serious problems can be experienced in the use of colistin. In this article, a case of reversible nephrotoxicity after colistin usage is presented.
