| dc.description.abstract | Tarih bir yönüyle araştırma ve incelemeye, diğer yönüyle ise anlatıya, dolayısıyla bir anlatı metnine dayanmaktadır. İnsan topluluklarının geçmişini nesnel olarak araştırma, insan eylemlerini anlatma girişimi, bilindiği gibi, ilk olarak çoğu Batı Anadolulu Yunan tarihçileri ile başlamıştır. Bunlardan ilki olan Miletoslu Hekataios hem düzyazıyla yazmanın hem de evreni eleştirel bir bakış açısıyla değerlendirmenin ortaya çıktığı İonia’dandır. Hekataios, büyük ailelerin geçmişlerini söylencelere dayandırarak anlattığı ve günümüze yalnızca 35 fragmanı kalan Genealogia (Soyağaçları) yazmıştır. Onun, çeşitli ülkelerin tasvirleri ve doğu tarihi ile ilgili bilgileri içeren Periegesis (Yeryüzünün Tasviri) adını taşıyan eserinden günümüze 335 fragman kalmıştır. Hekataios, geniş bilgisi ve uyanık eleştirelliğiyle dönemin dünya haritasını tamamlayıp düzeltmiştir. History is based on scholarly study on the one hand and an account of events or the narrative text, on the other. The objective study of the history of human societies and the task of narrating the deeds of human beings obviously started in the Western Anatolia. The pioneers of such studies were Greek Historians. Hecataeus of Miletus, who is considered to be the first to achieve revealing social life neutrally, was born in Ionia. Ionia is the place where writing in prose and passing a critical judgement on the universe originated. Only thirty-five fragments of Genealogia (The Genealogical Tree) written by Hecataeus have reached to the present day. In Genealogia Hecataeus reveals the historical facts of the eminent families depending on related legends. Three hundred and thirty-five fragments of his Periegesis (The Description of the World), in which he describes various lands and which includes valuable information about the history of the East, have survived until now. In this useful work Hecataeus vigilantly tidies up and draws a complete picture of the world through his critical views. | tr_TR |
