The study in which environmental concern and the related actions in our Country are examined, consists of two parts. In the first part, initially, with the beginnig of gainging actuality of environmental problems and perception of such concerns; actions taken on this subject matter, confereces held and decisions made are examined within a framework of a historical process. Then in order to determine the characteristic of environmental concern and the related actions, the green "Movement" in germany, France and the USA is investigated. In the second part, the formation of environmental organizations and their structures, social standings of their members, theri ideologies, requests, and aims are examined. According to the findings, there exist some differences in points of view of the environmental trends in Turkey which are yet in the formation state and not very strong at the present. While those in the first group may be defined as "environmental groups" proper; those fall in the second group deal with various social problems in addition to environmental concerns. Environmental trends in Turkey have benefitted from the reality of indifference of political parties towards the subject matter until recently. However, the same trends in other countries have tried to direct the political parties towards the environmental problems. tSKOK ME 101
