Item Malta Sürgünleri(Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü, 2008) Kurt, Binnur; Yaman, Ahmet Emin; TarihAfter Mondros Armistice, especially Britain followed policy of arresting and relegation to firstly against members of İttihât and Terakkî which was decided to take a part in the World War I with Germany and secondly peoplewho believed in Anatolian National Movement which is resisted occupation and hold out. As a result of this policy ?it was supported by Ottoman governments also- people who was gone into exile in Malta as a war criminal from 1919 to 1921, had to watch their nation?s survival war from distance. Attitudes of İstanbul governments, Anatolian National Movement and the Allies becomes very important in this delicate term. Reasons of arresting important people including diplomats, members of army and intellectuals and their capture life between 1919-1920 is the main subject of this thesis.In part one, we will analyse praxis of armistice?s articles and how British blacklisted people who were aganist their benefits.In part two, we will take on the way of arresting these people by İstanbul governments and Britain and the trials in military commissions.In part three, relegations journey to Malta and their lives there will come into the picture.In the final part, initiatives to free Malta relegations and eventually reaching freedom is represented.We tried to analyse this relegation which was intended to prevent a nation?s freedom struggle by sending away notables of it in a the life and death struggle.
