Item Türkmencede ve Türkiye Türkçesinde yansımalar(Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü, 2000) Geldiyev, Recep Muhammet; Canpolat, Mustafa; Türk Dili ve EdebiyatıSUMMARY Onomatopeic words constituting an important part among the languages of Turkey Turkish and of Turkmenish, are accepted as a separate word group with respect to their functions and concepts. These lexical units have developed in a regular and ruled structure, and they have added liveliness and colour to the language. Turkey Turkish and Turkmenish, which have both preserved the main linguistic characteristics of Oğuz Turkish, have kept common properties in onomatopeic words, though their historical periods and regions are different. This study, aiming to determine the onomatopeic words in Turkey Turkish and ftirkmenish; "is carried out by. a comparative method. A classification has been made by putting thousands of same, similar, or different onomatopeic words from both language, as well as samples from children's language. In the classification of onomatopeic words in both languages, two main aspects, namely "Sound Onomatopeic Words" and "Form Onomatopeic Words", have been taken on the basis of semantics and lexical-semantics principles. Onomatopeic words in the both languages have been examined in view of sound and form aspects, and it has been determined that they carry the same properties. However, it has also been observed that due to the fact that onomatopeic words depend on the internal phonetic differences of both languages, some variations exist with regarding the Phonetics. Of the onomatopeic words evaluated on the basis of syllable structure with respect to Phonetics, consonants in the first and in the last syllable of the onomatopeic words especially in the form of CVC syllable structure, have also been examined with respect to characteristic harmony. Samples related with metathesis in the onomatopeic words have been given comparatively in both languages. In the examinations made with respect to form, first, second, third and forth declensions of onomatopeic words have been examined, and items which comes to onomatopeic words and which carry structural properties have been determined and classified by examples. Onomatopeic adjectives as well as onomatopeic formed by auxiliary verbs are given in this subject. Also, a dictionary containing all the onomatopeic words examined in the study is annexed to the study.
