Item Çevre için halk eğitiminde Japonya ve Türkiye örneği(Eğitim Bilimleri Enstitüsü, 2005) Sancar, Kahoru Niibe; Ayhan, Serap; OtherThe aim of this study is to explore the experiences of environmentaleducation for people in Japan, from the points of national policies; activities ofrelevant establishments or organizations as composing of four groups (central andlocal governments, municipalities, universities and NGOs), target communities andgroups; the scope of the related subjects and priority, characteristics and duration ofthe education; strategies and methods and also to evaluate the results obtained inorder to develop the recommendations to be used for the benefit of Turkey.The findings of the study indicate that in Japan The Ministry of Education isgiving more importance for environmental education in formal education, while TheMinistry of Environment is mostly engaged in informal environmental education. Onthe other hand, both Ministries in Turkey have been focused on formal schooleducation. This study also pointed out that municipalities in Japan are much moreactive than those of Turkey. They arrange nonformal environmental educationprograms, especially, training environmental leaders and also educating all familymembers together. As regards to the functions of universities are different betweentwo countries; in Japan, at almost all universities, lectures are open to public andconstantly conferences or seminars are arranged. But, in Turkey, universities are notopen to public and these activities are not frequently organized for public.As a result, it is considered to be necessary for Turkey to get benefit out ofJapanese experiences and develop the proper practices for Turkey in the very nearfuture.Item Eğitimin küçük sanayiyi geliştirmeye dönük politikalar içindeki yer ve etkisi(Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü, 1993) Günlü, Ramazan; Ayhan, Serap; İşletmeThe aim of research is to find the educational requirements in the small industry enterprises. The problems related with small industy in literature have been discussed and these issues have been taken into coosideration when this questionnaire was prepared. Moreover, the questionnaire has been oferred experts' views. Questionaire has been implemented in the metal industry enterprises, specifially with the members of the Chamber of Industry in Ostim, Ankara. In gathering of data process, both the questionaire and some observations have also been used. In analysing and interpreting of data, the techniques "frequency" and "percentage" have been put into practice. The probable reasons of similarities and differences between the manufacture organization and educational requirements have been explained. The study has focused not only on the differences of educational requirements but their results in enterprises. The owners of enterprises have been asked to performe the organized educational services and in a form that should support the changes occurred. It has been observed a tendency from general-aimed training to specialization, while the size of enterprises continue to increase. While the size of enterprise and educational level are increasing, the need for workers having an ability to think actively is required. Prof. Dr. Serap Ayhan) I-XIV + 265 page, Ankara: 1996 This study of "descriptional" model aims at determining the present situation for the activation of public libraries in public education in accordance with the contemporary developments, finding out to what extent success is achieved at public education, and offering suggestions for measurements to be taken in case failures should be observed. To this end, public libraries are introduced in the theoretical section of the study and literature on assessment of public libraries in term of public education is thorougly studied. During the field study of the present study, "Yenimahalle ilce Halk KUtUphanesi", a public library to from the sampling of the study, has been taken into consideration and in order to determine the views, ideas, attitudes and expectations on Yenimahalle ilce Halk KUtUphanesi specifically and public libraries in general of all those who use the library (a total of 210 users), a questionnaire was given on June 1995 and further interviews were held with each of the library personnel. All data obtained has been analyzed according to their percentage and k-square (X2) analysis on cross-distribution of related variables. Findings obtained through data analysis have been discussed and the results below that form the base of the study have been obtained. 1. The study has shown that Yenimahalle ilce Halk KUtUphanesi does have the opportunities of serving as a public library. 2. Users use the library as if it were a school library and the library provides service likewise. 3. Adults cannot benefit from the library efficiently. 4. While users would like it that the library serve as a "culture center", it has been observed that the efforts the library has made to meet this demand largely fails. IIItem Kadın öğretmenler ve sendikal katılım; Eğitim-Sen örneği(Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü, 1999) Türkoğlu, Hülya; Ayhan, Serap; Çalışma Ekonomisi ve Endüstri İlişkileriThe main aim of this research is to set out and evaluate the participation in Eğitim-Sen of the female teachers who form an important section of the teaching force; the effects of union membership in self improvement and its realisation; and the views of the union administrators and female teachers, whether they are members of union or not. The thesis consist of four parts. The effects sexist ideologies formed during the course of history concerning the sate of woman is dealt with in the first section. Explanations of the methodology is the subject matter of the second section. The findings were analysed according to variables in the form of cross distributions in the third section. The research was stated and proposals were made in the final section. Main conclusions of this research are as follows: -The ratio of woman executive administrators in the Union to the number of members is very low. -The participation of young unmarried woman teachers without children is higher. -Woman teachers who are not aware of hidden sexual discrimination are a means to it and they help to pass it on into the future. -Woman move away from the union due to groupings and pressure groups within the union. -The sexual attitudes and behaviour of the society are also present in Eğitim-Sen. -Policies and attitudes formed according to male values are reasons for woman to be alienated from the Unuion.Item Televizyon yoluyla yaygın eğitim projesine (YAYÇEP) katılanların projeden beklentileri ve programa ilişkin görüşleri(Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü, 1995) Gültekin, Gülsüm Gülnaz; Ayhan, Serap; Radyo, Televizyon ve SinemaABSTRACT In this research, the opinions of the farmers from Sincan of Ankara, taking part in the project in its short name called YAYÇEP "The Farmers Education Project by Television" which has been carried out by the Ministry of Agricul ture were taken into consideration and their opinions were evaluated in the lights of the principles of projected training programmes by TV. A questionnaire is applied to 75 farmers and depth interviews are made with 15 farmers. The results which are taken from those questionnaires and interviews show that the farmers who are the target groups of the project have generally evaluated YAYÇEP positively and appreciated it. The farmers have been mostly affected by television in the process of be ing informed about the project; they have been impressed by agriculturists in the process of being interested; they have been impressed by their neigh bours and relatives in the process of trying on the innovations and they are impressed by their own experience in the process of application. Their suc cess in the process of trying on the innovations which thel learned from the project is effected by their neighbours' and relatives' successfull experiments. In the practice of YAYÇEP, as an example of distance education the train ing would have been supported with face to face relations in the field. This is the fundamental part of the training programme project. However, it was not taken into consideration during the practice; the books which were prepared to support the television programmes could not been reached to in the hands of the farmers in time; the prizes which were given to the successfull farmers were not classified according to their subjects. That's not all. The promises which were given for the successful farmers while introducing the project were not kept at the end. In addition to all these, women were not taken into consid eration in YAYÇEP. In spite of all these handicappes it has been seen that the performance of the farmers who are watching YAYÇEP programmes and reading the books of project improved. Besides, it was understood that the books of YAYÇEP had been the worthy handbooks for the farmers. It was observed that attending and being successful in the exams was rather low in proportion. In Sincan, only % 22.66 of the farmers who are participating to the project deserved a certificate. In the conclussion of this research it was believed that the training pro gramme project must be kept up and some other suggestions were offered in order to improve YAYÇEP and other similiar projects.Item Yetişkin eğitimi bağlamında işçi eğitimi üç işçi sendikasında etnografik örnek olay incelenmesi(Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü, 2001) Sayılan, Fevziye; Ayhan, Serap; Çalışma Ekonomisi ve Endüstri İlişkileriThe aim of this thesis is to evaluate the education of workers in the unions within the context of perspective transformation. To realize this aim an etnographic case study was conducted in three unions (Birleşik Metal İş, Harb İş, Öz Gıda İş) which are members of the three workers' confederations (DİSK, TÜRK İŞ, HAK İŞ) which represent three different traditions in the labour movement. The documents, field notes and recordings of the interviews were collected after a four years field work. First all the data are classified in a descriptive fashion. Later these data are analysed under certain groups which are produced within the frame work of certain research questions. In this way educational appoaches and aims of the three confederations are presented in a descriptive way. In this context educational approaches, and workers' education program of the unions are evaluated. Later the data collected by observation and interview are interpreted. These interpretaions are subsumed under the following subjets: union education and needs of workers; learning in the class room and in the group work; gender and learning; transformation of percpective of workers. In addition all the findings are interpreted in a way which compares different unions focusing on their divergences and common points in their approaches.
