All ceramic restorations are used as an alternative to metal supported restorations due to their superior biocompatibility, optical and mechanical properties. Among all ceramic systems, zirconia restorations with particularly high mechanical properties are the current treatment options commonly used for fixed restorations with advantages such as high biocompatibility, low pulp irritation due to low thermal conductivity and low allergic potential. With the monolithic translucent zirconia material, a current material, it is possible to obtain one-piece aesthetic restorations without the need for veneering ceramics. Many factors are effective to obtain the superior properties of zirconia, especially sintering conditions as sintering temperature, and sintering atmosphere are the most important. Some researchers have investigated the effect of sintering time and temperature on properties such as translucency, particle size, and resilience of zirconia core material, but the effect of these changes on the translucent monolithic zirconia properties, are still questionable. So, aim of the this study was to determine the optimum sintering conditions to obtain ideally optic, mechanical and structural properties of monolithic zirconia restorations. In our study, the effect of sintering temperature and time on the structural, optical and mechanical properties of pre-sintered, self-colored (A2) translusent monolithic zirconia materials was evaluated. 34 subgroups (n=10) together with the control groups with specimens diameter of 15,5 x 12,5 x 1,2 mm (totally 340 specimens) were formed according to sintering paramaters for two materials. Surface phase transformations and particle size changes by X-ray diffraction and SEM analysis for structural properties, color and translucency changes by spectrophotometer for optic propertires, profilometry measurements for surface roughness and mechanical properties changes by 3 point bending test were evaluated respectively. Differences between groups for each material were determined at a level of significance of p˂ 0,05 using one-way ANOVA and Tukey's HSD multiple comparison test. The T-test was used to compare the groups in the same sintering conditions between different two materials, and the difference between the groups was determined using the SPSS program at a significance level of p˂0,05. No phase transformation was observed between sintered groups at different temperatures and time. It has been observed that the sintering temperature and time are effective on the particle size of the Group A and Group B are effective and the particle size increases with increasing temperature and time. According to our results, the particle size values range from 0,21 to 1,05 μm. Changes in the sintering parameters have a significant effect on the color change and translucency values of the zirconia materials. (P˂0,05). The sintering temperature for ideal color characteristics are obtained between 1450 °C -1500 °C and the color change values (ΔE) vary between 1,75 and 19,31. The mean translucency (T) values for the Grup A ranged from 8,02 to 10,35, while for the Grup B these values ranged from 2,46 to 10,65. Changes in the sintering parameters do not affect the surface roughness and flexural strength of the zirconia material. Surface roughness (Ra) for the groups are above the clinically acceptable values for all groups. According to results of our study, the average flexural strength value (σ) for zirconia material ranges from 350 to 650 MPa. According to the results of our study, the mechanical properties of the zirconia material without phase transformation were not affected by the sintering parameters but optical and aesthetic properties were directly affected by the sintering parameter changes. It was determined that the ideal sintering parameters are between 1450 °C -1500 °C sintering temperature and between 60-120 minutes holding time.tr_TR
