Geleneksel Türk tahkiyesinin modern Türk hikâyesine yansımaları (1990-2010)
Özet
This thesis deals with the reflection of traditional Turkish narration texts (epic, tale, mathnavi, folktale, meddah stories) on Turkish short stories written between 1990-2010. Tanpınar, in his novel Huzur, by stating "though it is a doubt, we need to be a continuation of a thing" refers to nations' providing their durability according to their relations with their roots. Doubtless, one of these roots is society's literary accumulation. Almost in every period, there are narrators/authors who re-evaluated this literary inheritance without passing under the yoke of tradition. Under this point of view, it is seen that Turkish nation has a prolific narration tradition. In this context, traditional narrations have an important function with respect to their being main referable sources on the evaluation of narration tradition. Both traditional narrations and western-style short story understanding -first examples started with the translation movement since 1850s- have a contribution to gaining modern short story form. This study aims at identifying how traditional narration texts in various names and forms contribute to forming today's short story understanding and how modern Turkish short story benefits from these texts' fictional and technical features.
