Kardaşlık dergisinde Irak Türkmenlerinin hikâyesi: 1961 - 1977
Özet
The books related to Turkmen storytelling published between the years 1909-1977 and the products published in the Journal of Kardaşlık, the only literary magazine that belongs to Iraqi Turkmen in these years were examined in two planes within the frame of the thesis basically. That only 3 story books of Turkmen were published in Iraq in a 68 year period and 63 stories were published in the Journal of the Kardaşlık with a total issue of 144 during 16 years is quite interesting and shows that storytelling in Iraqi Turkmen sprouted newly in the examined years and there was a great recess in that field. The main reason of this recess is all kinds of pressure and assimilation policies that were applied to Iraqi Turkmen from the World War I to year 2003. Ban on mother tongue education also both alienated Turkmen writers in their societies and national and imposed social responsibilities on them because it is a part of cited policies. Because the ban on the use of the mother tongue, which sometimes descends to the conversations between school students, deadlocked the authors that gained the literacy of the mother tongue with their own individual efforts to provide stories that will appeal to the social consciousness and pleasure of a society deprived of the most basic use of native language rights for many years. At the same time, Turkmen society's being lack of all kinds of literary and cultural activities blocked especially story writers before the Journal of Kardaşlık published in 1961firstly.
