Denture frame analizi'nin toplumumuzdaki normları ve vertikal yön etkinliği
Özet
The aim of this study;1.To create norms of Denture Frame Analysis (DFA) for Turkish society,2.To search whether DFA norm values will be used in both genders and each development period or not,3.To test vertical direction effectiveness of Denture Frame Analysis by searching the relation of measurements used in the analysis with craniofacial morphology. Our research was conducted on lateral cephalogram and hand-wrist graphies of 471 subjects with normal occlusion aged between 12 and 15; 230 subjects are male and 241 subjects are female. DFA norms were examined separately by grouping the subjects into female and male both according to skeleton maturity periods (pre-peak, peak, post-peak) and chronological age (12, 13, 14, 15 years old).In the study, interaction between gender x chronological age and gender x skeleton maturity period was examined by two-way variance analysis method. When interaction was found important, multiple comparisons were made in order to determine the situations creating difference. In the cases where the interaction was not found suitable but skeleton maturity period or chronological age had effect on results, one-way variance analysis and post-hoc Tukey HSD test were used in order to determine the situations creating difference. Whether there was statistically significant difference between male and female within each skeleton maturity period group or chronological age group or not was investigated by Bonferroni Corrected Student?s test. Whether there was statistically significant correlation between continuous variables or not was investigated by Pearson?s Correlation test.It was confirmed in our study that norms of Denture Frame Analysis have different values for our society. It was determined that different norms should be used for each skeleton maturity period for A?-P? and A1/AB measurements in males and for FH-MP, PP-MP, OP-MP/PP-MP and A?-6?/A?-P? measurements in all subjects. Also it was observed that norm values of A?-6? dimension and inter-molar angle between genders are different.Importance of evaluating each society with unique norms, in the same time taking the gender into consideration and using different norms for skeleton maturity period groups during diagnosis and treatment planning is observed.
