El parmaklarının antropometrik ölçümleriyle boy ve cinsiyet tahmini
Özet
Estimation of stature and sex determination are very important for identification of unknown individuals. The aim of this study was to derive regression equations for estimation of the stature and to estimate sex from finger measurements. This study was performed on 150 right handed patients, comprising 75 male and 75 female (18-30 years). For this purpose, finger length, proximal phalanx lenght, finger breadth and finger circumference were measured from left side for second to fifth fingers and then stature was measured. Sex differences were significant for all measurement (p<0,001). The highest correlation coefficient was found in third proximal phalanx in both sexes. Lineer regression equation for stature estimation for calculated for both sexes. The accuracy of stature prediction ranged from ±3,97 to 5,29 cm. Logistic regression analysis for sex determination was performed. We could determine sex with %94,7 accuracy via index finger circumference. The result of this study indicate that stature estimation and sex determination can be made by using finger measurements.
