X-ray analizörlü enerji dağılımlı taramalı elektron mikroskobu (SEM/EDS) ile ENFSI/GSR (Europan Network Forensic Science Institue/ gun shot residue proficiency test) numunesinde elementel atış artıklarının analizi ve optimizasyonu
Özet
A round of a firearm mainly consists of three parts; bullet lead, casing and propellant(black or smokeless powder). The primer which is located on the base of the casing includes shock sensitive explosives like lead styphnate, barium nitrate or antimony sulfide. When the striker hits the primer those shock sensitive explosive mixture creates a spark which ignites the propellant. The hot gas pressure created by the burning propellant pushes the lead forward towards the target at a high speed. The gun shot residue are the particles formed by the rapid cooling of gas and rigid materials which includes the compounds of propellant and the metallic parts of the firearm. GSR analysis helps to prove the link between the firearm and the suspect/victim. As the variety and prevalence of firearms and their ammunitions increase everyday therefore the GSR analysis methods should be developed and new methods should be followed closely. In this study we will conduct examinations on GSR material located on the carbon tape of ENFSI/GSR PT kit by utilizing the SEM/EDS technic and the number, size and the location of the material will be known before the test. By the analysis of GSR on standard ENFSI-GSR (Europen Network Forensic Science Institue-Gunshot Residue) proficiency test sample, the results of changeable variations in device and parameters will be introduced and then the optimum working parameters will be determined. The outputs of this study will be used as a method for validation works and also will help forensic chemistry experts to standardize their examinations.
