Abstract

This master thesis in on philosophy of difference of Gilles Deleuze, one of the post-structualist thinkers in 20th century French philosophical momentum and on philosophy of politics he concentrated on, along with the work he indited together with Felix Guattari after meeting him. This thesis tries to track the works Deleuze handled regarding philosophy in his early period in terms of ontology and analyze the Capitalism and Schizophrenia with political philosophy's own concepts. In this context, it puts some distance between political philosophy of Deleuze and ontology. In the first chapter, traversing the 20th century French philosophical momentum during which intensive philosophical works took place, Deleuze will be placed in historical context. Subsequently, the monograph on David Hume that Delueze, who headed towards a different name from the aforementioned philosophical climate's intellectual sources in the ongoing disputes on the subject which is the main problematic, will be examined. It will be ended with the analysis of the work on Immanuel Kant whom he tried to understand the conscious not with transcendental references but with intrinsic ones. The second chapter of the thesis is on the ontological formation of Deleuze's philosophy of difference. From the monographs Deleuze wrote on Henri Bergson, Friedrich W. Nietzsche ve Benedictus de Spinoza, ontological status of his philosophy of difference's will be determined by bringing the Difference and Repetition and The Logic of Sense, in which he philosophized in his own name, into focal points. In the third chapter, the political philosophy of Deleuze will be examined from the Anti-Oedipus and A Thousand Plateaus volumes, which constitute Capitalism and Schizophrenia. It will be inquired how the set of concepts that Deleuze assembled with the inspiration he got from philosophical workings, formed an analysis frame in the name of political philosophy.
