In this study whether self-construal, self-esteem and social support significantly predicting subjective well being or not had been examined. The study consisted of 662 university students in emerging adulthood. Demographic information form, Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale, Perceived Social Support Scale, Subjective Well-being Scale and Sixfold Self-construal Scale were applied to the emerging adults in order to collect the data. Results showed that self-esteem, perceived social support from family, and friends, personal self-construal and collective-vertical self-construal significantly predicted subjective well-being. These predictors explained 45% of total variance of subjective well-being. Predictor variables effecting on subjective well-being ordered from high to low were self-esteem, perceived social support from family, perceived social support from friends, personal self-construal and collective-vertical self-construal. On the contrary relational-vertical self-construal, relational-horizontal self-construal, collective-horizontal self-construal and self-construal with humanity did not significantly predict subjective well-being. Findings with demographic variables showed that subjective well-being was significantly different according to family income, grade level and studying programme, but subjective well being was not significantly different with respect to gender, type of family, father and mother's education, number of sibligs and location where the most of life lived. Findings with self-construals showed that relational-vertical self construal was significantly different according to gender, type of family, studying programme, grade level, mother's education level, family income and location where the most of life lived. Relational- horizontal self construal was significantly different with respect to studying programme. Moreover collective-horizontal self-construal was significantly different according to gender, studying programme, mother education's level, number of siblings and family income. Collective-vertical self-construal was significantly different with respect to grade level and location where the most of life lived. Personal self-construal was significantly different according to gender, type of family, father's education level and family income. Lastly self construal with humanity was significantly different with respect to type of family, grade level, number of siblings and location where the most of life lived. In conclusion, self esteem, perceived social support from family, and friends, personal self-construal and collective-vertical self-construal had predicting affect on subjective well-being. Althogh subjective well-being was limitedly changed according to demographic varibales, self-construal was significantly changed acording to demografic variables in Turkish culture.
