İşitme engelli çocuklara sosyal becerilerin öğretilmesinde işbirlikçi öğrenme yöntemi ile sunulan öğretim programının incelenmesi

The aim of this study is to examine the effectiveness of social skills training program for hearing impaired students learning of basic social skills, initiating and maintaining the communication skills, working in groups and generalizing these skills developed on the basic of cooperative learning. The subjects of this study were the hearing impaired students who have been attending special education classes at Tevfik İleri İlköğretim Okulu in Ankara. The Total numbers of the subjects were (n:36), (n:9) of whom were selected whether they have already had the prerequisite behaviors or not, (n:27) of whom were attending regular classes. During the study, the subjects were selected whether they have had the defined prerequisite behaviors or not. During the study, for the teaching of each social skills the data was collected by means of various data collection instruments. Depending on the observations of special education classroom teachers the Social Skills Evaluation Scale was given to the subjects in order to identify both the three primarily important social skills of hearing impaired students and to identify their inefficiencies in the these skills. In addition to this; Multiple Probe Model Across Subject was used in order to examine the effectiveness of teaching. During the study, lesson plans on the basis of cooperative learning method were developed and used in order to achieve the target social skills (i. e. Basic social skills, communication skills to initiate and develop communication and skills related to working with others). These lesson plans were applied three days in a week and by the end of each application, post observation sessions were made. The results of this study indicated that the social skills teaching program developed on the basis of cooperative learning for nine hearing impaired students was effective in order to teach and to generalize the target social skills.
