Acemhöyük'te Asur ticaret kolonileri çağı metal eşya üretimi
Özet
From the first discovery and working of copper, metallurgy has constantly evolved and developed in Anatolia. By the end of the Early Bronze Age, developed technologies as well as a variety of products characterise metal working in Anatolia. During the same period, a complex trade network was established between Anatolia and northern Mesopotamia. The main components of this trade network were gold and silver sent from Anatolia in return for tin and cloth. Kültepe and Acemhöyük are two of the most important settlements yielding information about the cultural aspects of this period.Systematic excavations which have been carried out since 1962 at Acemhöyük have revealed that this settlement was the center of a local kingdom during the Assyrian Trade Colonies Period. Acemhöyük is situated close to the rich metal sources of the Bolkardağ mountain range. Metal finds at this settlement reflect an advanced metallurgical level, clearly proving the significance of Acemhöyük as an important station in metal trade.Through the course of the 50 years of excavation, large number of metal tools, weapons, ingots, and jewellery have been found along with crucibles, bellows and moulds which were used in the production of such finds. Archaeological finds evaluated within the course of this study have shown that the inhabitants of Acemhöyük reached an advanced level in all kinds of metallurgical activity starting from the extraction of copper from its ore to the production of artefacts and their distribution as trade goods.
