Mali sürdürülebilirlik: Teori ve Türkiye uygulaması
This study embarks upon the development of economic policies which have been applied since 1980 to the present in Turkey. For this purpose, economic crises and policies which are implemented in the last three-decade are discussed. The aim of this study is to assess emprically the sustainability of fiscal policy for Turkey over the period of 1980-2010. First of all time data unit-root tests are used, the result show that the variables are not stationary in level. All variables are stationary in first differences. Secondly, we test the long-run relationship between variables for which Johansen (1988) co-integration approach has been used. And finally, in the study to assess fiscal sustainability Hakkio & Rushs? (1989) and Quinto?s (1995) models are used. This study contains an innovative feature on fiscal sustainability literature. Analyses are modified by including various components of expenditure and revenue in order to be able to examine their separate effects. The evidence of the estimations reveals that fiscal sustainability is weak for Turkey over the period of 1980-2010.
