Abstract
In biomedical applications, we need lung surfactant proteins whether it is natural or synthetic. These synthetic proteins are in polimer structure and its length and amino acid sequence are controlled. Pulmonary surfactant is a mixture of proteins and lipids that enables normal breathing. By virtue of its unique surface active properties, lung surfactant markedly decreases the surface tension at the air-liquid interface of the myriad tiny air-sacs. Preterm infants who have gestated for less than 29 weeks (7 !4 months) typically have not yet begun to secrete lung surfactant into alveolar space and will suffocate after delivery without surfactant replacement therapy. In this study, biomimetic lung surfactant C developed for biomedical application. For this reason, amino acid side analogous side chains protected with protecting groups. Finally, this amino acid analogous used for SP-C synthesis in submonomer protocol. The sub-monomer synthesis protocol developed by Zuckermann et al at 1992. At the end of study; The latest step is identification SP-C structure with HPLC, NMR, Mass spectroscopy. Keywords: Amino acids, peptite, peptoids, surfactant protein -C
