Abstract

Master Thesis CONSTRUCTION OF IRON (III) - SELECTIVE ELECTRODE Ece DÜZGÜN Ankara University Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences Department of Chemistry Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Orhan ATAKOL In this study, a new solid state membran electrode based on Ag2S-KFeS2 compound is described. Resulting the electrode exhibited good selectivity properties toward the iron(III) cation and gave near-Nernstain slope. The optimum working pH of electrode was 2,3. The potentiometric selectivity coefficients for some cations were evaluated by the mixed solution method and furthermore, the performance of the electrodes with respect to electrode reproducibility, life time and response time was determined.
