Osteosarkom ve varyantlarının klinik ve radyolojik ayırımı
Özet
Osteosarcoma is the most frequent primary malignant tumor of bone and seen mostly in young adults. Having rapidly progress and poor prognosis is some of the caharacteristics of this disease. Beyond these features having many varyants of this disease makes both patients and doctors confused. Our study consists 216 patients which has been diagnosed between 1986-2004. in this study we evaluated the clinical and radiological differences between the varyants of osteosarcoma. 136 patients were male in and this showed us the gender dominancy. Our youngest patient was 4, and the oldest patient was 75 years old. This range shows us that we can see this disease in every decade but the mean avarage age of our all patients was 17 and it is more valuable as a data because 75% of osteosarcomas are classical osteosarcomas and it is seen mostly between in first decade. As we mentioned in the text in details, varyants have many different features, but when we take care at the pathogenesis we will see that all of the varyants are bone producing tumors. The latter feature must make surgeon not to forget biopsy as a diagnostic method, if he could not manage to put the diagnosis with clinical and radiological studies.
