Malign plevral mezotelyoma ile plevral metastazların bilgisayarlı tomografi bulgularının karşılaştırılması
Özet
Comparison of computed tomography findings in malignant pleural mesothelioma and pleural metastases Purpose: CT findings of malignant pleural mesothelioma and pleural metastases are compared to investigate the helpful features in differential diagnosis. Materials and Methods: A retrospective review of CT scans with contrast agent of 91 patients, 54 of malignant pleural mesothelioma and 37 of pleural metastasis was performed.Volume loss, unilateral or bilateral involvement, pleural rind, pleural nodularity, pleural thickening greater than 1 cm, pleural effusion, pleural plaque, pleural calcification, mediastinal pleural involvement, visceral pleural involvement, chest wall invasion, interlobar fissure involvement, hilar or mediastinal lymphadenopathy, lung parenchymal involvement were evaluated and compared in two groups. Results: CT findings with statisticallysignificant difference between malignant mesothelioma and pleural metastases were identified. Findings for malignant mesothelioma were unilateral involvement, pleural rind, mediastinal pleural involvement, volume loss, pleural plaque, pleural calcification, pleural thickening greater than 1 cm;wherease findings for pleural metastases were hilar or mediastinal lymphadenopathy, lung parenchymal involvement. Conclusion: We concluded that CT is helpful in the differential diagnosis of malignant pleural mesothelioma and pleural metastases.
