Abstract
During the collapsing period of the Soviet Union, Armenia while committing agenocide against Azerbaijanians by receiving a support from the West and Russia, it alsooccupied whole territory of Nagorno-Karabagh, attacked to the territories surroundingNagorno-Karabagh, occupied approximately 20% of Azerbaijan lands and established acorridor connecting Armenia.Through mentioned period while twenty thousand of Azerbaijanians lost their lives,approximately thirty thousand became injured, fifty thousand became disabled and fivethousand hundred Azerbaijani were lost or captured from which sixty six were children.To set free and return occupied Nagorno-Karabagh and its surroundings whichArmenia occupied, Security Council of the United Nations accepted resolutions 822?th in 30April 1993, 853?th in 24 July 1993, 874?th in 15 October 1993 and 884?th in 11 November1993 not to be carried out up to now.In this thesis we have analyzed historical development of Azerbaijani and Armenianrelations and the reasons of the Nagorno-Karabagh conflict from the World War I to thepresent and aimed to give suggestions for the benefit of both Azerbaijan and Armenia.
