3-6 yaş arasındaki işitme engelli ve işiten çocukların sosyal beceri ve problem davranışları yönünden karşılaştırılmaları
Özet
The purpose of this research is to carry out a comparative study about the social skills and problem behaviors of hearing impaired children who attend segregated settings and integrated programs and normal hearing children. There were 60 hearing impaired and 474 normal hearing children who are between 3-6 ages in our research group. We have used "Preschool and Kindergarden Behavior Scales" developed by Merrell (1994) to asset the social skills and problem behavior. These scales have been translated to Turkish before use. The psychometric properties (reliability and validity) of these scales are shown by the reseacher. The datas which we have obtained have been analyzed by practicing correlation and analysis of variance and t test. As the conclusion we have found out that, between the hearing impaired children who attend segregated setting and integrated programs and hearing children, statistically there is a significant difference in the "social interaction" subscale of their "social skills". But there is not any meaninful difference in the subscale of "social independence" and "social cooperation". Also there is a significant difference in the subscale of "internalizing problems" of the "problem behavior scales" between the groups. But there can't be seen any statistically significant difference in the subscale of "externalizing problems" of the groups. While age, as a variant causes a significant difference on the grades gotten from the scale of "social skill"; the main effects of the variant of being hearing impaired person or not age and sex, up on the grades gotton from "social skills" and "problem behavior" scales aren't found significant. Besides that, between the children of deaf and hard of hearing there has been a significant difference in their grades of "internalizing problems" subscale of "problem behavior " scales. But on the other side there hasn't been founded any significant difference among the grades of which is 83another subscale "externalizing problems" and all subscale of "social skills" scales. We have discussed the conclusion above by comparing theme to the other researches in the same literature area and by taking the current situations of segregated setting integrated programs in Turkey in to the consideration. 84
