Radiotherapy has a significant role on treating breast cancer. In recent years, with the help of developments in technology on radiotherapy, the techniques which is used in breast cancer treatment is also progressed rapidly. An advanced type of traditional tangential field technique, which is called ?field in field technique?, is started to being implemented commonly. The understanding of the advantages of these two techniques to each other is very important. The aim of this thesis is, the assessment of traditional tangential field technique and field in field technique by means of critical organs and target doses.The study was performed in the department of Gazi University Radiation Oncology by using Eclipse treatment planning system. In the study, 10 left and 10 right breast cancer patients are planned with both traditional tangential field technique and field in field technique. By using these treatment plans, the dose volume histograms are obtained. With the help of dose volume histograms, the critical organ and target doses and the volumes that received these doses are identified. Finally, in the content these assessments, field in field technique is superior to traditional tangential field technique, by means of the critical organs received minimum dose and the target received maximum dose.
