Abstract
This research aims to study the effects of spiritual values to moral developmentof primary education students.According to this, the effects of the knowledge gainedfrom Culture of Religion and Knowledge of Moral Values lessons to moraldevelopment of 11-12 year children is studied.Spiritual values include moral subjects that are learned in Culture of Religionand Knowledge of Moral Values lessons. These values are; love, tolerance,charity,parental love, friendship and fraternity, being justice, forgiveness, being patient, givethanks, respect to others right, controll our anger.This research is conducted with sixth grade students in Ankara city-Kazancounty, in Atatürk Primary Education School.At the beginnig of 2004-2005 Educational Year Pre-test and at the end of theyear post-test is applied in 40 minutes for 30 students.Total points obtained from questionaire with Spss Statistical Programme ForSocial Sciences 11.00 , for Paired Samples t-test is used to collate.Before moral education students' moral development judgements mean is X-26.76, after one year education it increases to X= 37.93. According to Paired Samplest-test results, the difference between two mean statistically significant that is 0.05.This finding shows that moral education given in Culture of Religion andKnowledge of Moral Values lessons has a positive effect on sixth grade primaryeducation students.185
