Şâtıbî'nin Kurân'ı yorumlama yöntemi

ABSTRACT Baltacı, Burhan, Shâtibî's Exegesis ofQur'an, PhD. Thesis, Advisor: Prof. Dr. Halis Albayrak, Ankara 2005, X+237p. Abû Ishaq Ibrahim b. Mûsâ b. Mohammad al-Lakhmî al-Shâtibî (d.790/1388) is one of the important muslim thinkers and jurists (faqth). Shâtibî was grew up in Granada (in al-Andalus/Muslim Spain) where had become a center of knowledge (al- 'Um. Shâtibî, his learning in law and jurisprudence, had unique opportunity of studying with the well-known scholars of Arabic language and literature of his time. In this study we discussed Shâtibî's apprehending of Qur'an and his exegesis. In the introduction, we reviewed Shâtibî's biography. In this part, Shâtibî's life, works and historical background along with political, social, cultural and economic developments in fourteenth century in Granada. In the first chapter, we discussed Shâtibî's views in exegesis ofQur'an and History ofQur'an with descriptive method. We reviewed in the second chapter "conceptual foundations of Shâtibî's understanding of Qur'an (ummiyyah, arabiyyah, maqasid al-Shariah etc.)." The universality within a language system should better be termed as generality. In case of Arabic language, Shâtibî adopted the term ummiyyah. Shâtibî identified the Arabs of the Qur'anic period as ummiyyûn and further defined it as ignorance of the Sciences of ancients. The final chapter was assigned to research and discuss Shâtibî's Qur'anic explanation method. The presented study has ended with conclusion. 235
