In this study, protective factors and resiliency traits of high school studentswere compared according to status of students? families being divorced ornondivorced and gender of students. Moreover, having divorced ornondivorced parents and gender of students, predicted or did not predictedprotective factors and resilience traits of high school students.In the research sample, there were 70 divorced family?s adolescents and 82nondivorced family?s adolescents and totally 152 high school students. 152 ofstudents were equally 76 females and males. These students were chosenfrom high schools of Mamak/Ankara.California Healthy Kids Survey Resilience and Youth Development ModuleHigh School Questionnaire were applied to measure protective factors andresilience traits of high school students. Divorced families? children werelearnt from student identification cards in Guidance and PsychologicalCounseling Services of high schools.MONOVA and multiple regression analysis were used to analyze data.According to research results, students of nondivorced families hadsignificantly higher protective factors and resilience traits than students ofdivorced families had. There were no significant differences according togender between two groups. Results of comparison of subtests:Nondivorced families? adolescents had higher caring relationships and highexpectations at community; caring relationships, high expectations andopportunities for meaningful participations at family; goals and aspirations;problem solving level than students of divorced children had.Caring relationships and high expectations at school; caring relationshipswith peers; self-efficacy and self-awareness; empathy were not significantlydifferent according to having divorced or nondivoreced families.According to gender, only empathy had significant differences. Female hadhigher empathy level than male had.Having divorced or nondivorced families predicted significantly protectivefactors and resiliency traits of high school students. Gengder was not asignificant predictor. Results of multiple regression analysis of subtests ofCYDÖ:Families? divorced and nondivorced status was a significant predictor ofcaring relationships, high expectations and opportunities for meaningfulparticipations at family, and problem solving.Families? divorced and nondivorced status was not significant predictor ofcaring relationships and high expectations at community; caring relationshipsand high expectations at school; caring relationships with peers; self-efficacyand self-awareness; empathy, and goals and aspirations.Gender was a significant predictor only for empathy.
