Şah İsmail hikayesi üzerinde monografik bir inceleme
Özet
Being one of the most significant genres of the Turkish Folk Literature, the folk tales have been the main topics of a great deal of the scientific work up to now since the last quarter of the 19th century. In some research they have been analyzed as a whole, yet in some, certain ones have been worked on. The folk tale Shah Ismail and Gülizar, the main concern of the thesis at hand, was most seriously analyzed by Hans- August Fischer in Leipzig, 1929 (Schah Ismajil und Gülüzar). Apart from this work, tha tale was also studied by some graduate students. However, being limited in scope, these theses were in the form of compilations. For this reason, we have aimed to study the folk tale Shah İsmail and Gülizar within a more satisfactory framework with respect to the ones previously used. In the thesis we have put forth not only the basic changes the tale had in time, focusing on both its old forms and forms living in the oral tradition of the near past, but also its relationships with the other folk tales and corresponding relationships between the traditions of tales and folk tales. Considering the episodes, their motifs, and the positions and functions of these motifs, we have compared and constrasted Shah İsmail and Gülizar with the variants of the same narration Elif and Mahmut, and Hurşit and Mahmihri folk tales. Consequently, we have concluded that these two folk tales might be the variants of Shah Ismail and Gülizar. However, the poetic element has a special significance in folk tales. We should also point out that there are no resemblances among the poems of the three folk tales.
