The purpose of this research is to determine the in-service training needs of the teachers and principals working in primary schools. The sample of the study, which was selected via stratified sampling method, comprised of teachers and principals working in Ankara district.At the level of gathering information primarily, litearature has been reviewed and theoretical foundations of the questionnaire were composed. Besides, in doing teacher interview, questionnaire were copmprised by the help of materials they used, classroom characteristics, evaluation methods. While questionnaire items were constituting, experts? opinions have been called upon. In the data analysis, frequency and percentage, arithmetic means were used. Descriptive statistics (means and standart deviations) of the perception of the teachers in relation to the in service training, based on the constructivist approach has been figure out.In order to determine whether or not there have been any differences between teacher perception in relation to the in service training based on the constructivist approach and participants? gender, age and taking in-service training, t-test was used. Comparison between teacher perception and their seniority was calculated with ANOVA, and Kruskall-Wallis H test was utilized for educational level.The methods that teachers use at most while lecturing, topics that teachers get difficulty about measurement and evaluation, problems that teachers encounter at the planning dimension and finally most encountered problems at the content dimension was calculated by frequencies and percentages. In comparing the teachers? and principals? scores concerning the principal competencies, t-test was used.According to the findings of the research, teachers perceive themselselves as competent on constructive programs. Since knowledge has been regenareted every day, teachers may be encountered new responsibilities and they may need new proficiency. Featured needs fort he teachers in scope of this study are method and technics designation, being able to form appraisal criterias, planning different activities fort he students at different IQ levels and selecting suitable materials.
