Özet
The importance of supply chain management has been increasing in recent years parallel to the developments occurred in information technologies and business process improvement techniques. This brings the idea that the subject is also important for theoretical studies, which are mainly base for companies' practices. This is also the main reason for this study. The purpose of this study is to measure the supply chain time-based performance, which can be used for the companies as a determining factor for designing their cycle times in order to gain the competitive advantage. This study consists of three chapters. In the first chapter, supply chain management and supply chain information systems have been analyzed. In the literature, evaluations in supply chain management have been taken into account and emphasized the importance of integrated supply chain management concept. To develop buyer- supplier relations, the main factors that affect the success of the firms adopted Japanese lean network model, have been examined. Similar to these factors, information technologies and business process improvement techniques have seriously influenced the success of supply chain management. By this reason, technologies that constitute supply chain information systems and business process improvement methods that develop business process are investigated in this chapter. Second chapter of this study involves logistics management process and electronic trading. In this chapter, information technologies and strategies especially used in retailing sector are mentioned and time based performance metrics of supply chain management are explained. Besides, electronic supply chains that are at the last level of supply chains set by firms are investigated. The last chapter of this study consists of supply chain management application of Turkish automotive subsidiary industries. To conduct the application, first of all, Turkish automotive subsidiary industries have been evaluated and practice model for the industries have been explained. Practice model is based on developing time based performance metrics with information technologies, business process improvement methods and interaction effects of those methods. Consequences of a practice, information technologies, business process improvement 219methods and interactions effects forming synergistic effect have influence on supply chain time based performance metrics positively. 220
