The aim of this study is to determine the time traps of the teachers working in the primary schools with in the borders of the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality and the methods they use to cope with them.With this aim, a questionnaire containing the matters of time use, time traps and the methods of using the time effectively has been prepared and applied to 376 primary school teachers.The data collected from the questionnaire has been analyzed in SPSS program. In order to analyze the personnel information about teachers, the arithmetic mean and standart deviation has been calculated for the responses related with percentage and frequency, time use, time traps and methods of using the time effectively. The t test has been used in comparing the views on the genders, seniorities and duties of teachers education type of the schools they are working at, their time use and time traps according to the weekly course schedule and their methods of using the time effectively and the varince analysis (ANOVA) in comparing their views according to the district they are working in.As a result of analyzing the data optained from this questionnaire, the time traps from which the teachers are affected mostly are as following; difference in the student levels, crowded classrooms, students? failure to bring their course materials with them in the time, students? inattention to the lessons, intensive content of courses, improperness of aims with the duration of lessons and comprehending the program insufficiently.The teachers stated the methods they apply in order to use the time effectively as ?I lead in effectively in order to direct the students? attention to the lesson?, ?I finish the lesson with positive messages? and ?I prepare the materials before starting the lesson?.
