Yönlendirilmiş teknolojik değişim, teknolojik değişimin yöntemleri ve ücret kutuplaşması
Özet
Wage inequality is the core point of the changes in factor-biased technological changes. In the last 30 years, as the relative supply of skilled-labor increases, the relative wage of the skilled-labor has increased respectively. On the one hand, it has induced the wage gap between the factors of production. This adverse relation ends up with the causality by shedding light on the bias of technological change. Therefore, the skilled-labor has been a major subject examined as a factor of production in both developed and developing countries. The increase in skilled-labor demand induced by the skill-biased technological change and the wage inequality form a part of the thesis in this work. The other part includes the way of the technological change. In the literature, the change has to be conducted by either diffusion or research and development activities. Both ways induce a rise in the total factor productivity. Here, what is assumed is the two ways take place at the same time in the model so it is aimed to reach the conclusion that the relative supplies of labors affect the relative technological change and that causes the productivities increase in different ways. The theoretical model is aimed to guide for future research which can relate the empirical evidences about the R&D and diffusion to the basic model framed here. Furthermore, the work can contribute to establish appripriate policies about the economy by enhancing the model.
