In this dissertation, the appointments for the prime minister by the president in the Republic of Turkey are analyzed from the establishment of TBMM until today. The scope of the investigation is limited by periodical and spatial perspectives. Hence, the other modern parliamentary systems and the periods beyond the referred time interval are excluded.The subject is divided into main two chapters as before and after the specifically significant year of 1960 to investigate properly. In this framework, all appointments from founding until the current day is stressed as for to reach a determinative model of appointment and historical context via reviews of period-specific legal codes and direct references from (Official) Gazette and parliamentary records. As a reaching point, it is considered that the political background of designative acts and regulations at length under the headline of ?The Nature of Appointments?.Finally, the main aim of this dissertation is to explain and to unfold the common criteria of designations if there has ever been existed, and to follow the evolution of these criterions if there has ever been taken place during the history of the Turkish Republic
