Tarsus kaynaklı susam (Sesamum indicum L.) tohum yağı üzerinde farmakognozik araştırmalar

62 As a result of the analysis it is found that sesame oil of Tarsus origin contains 0,563 % sesamolin. Fatty acids of sesame oil which was converted to methyl esters by using Metcalfe-1966 method, have been analyzed by capillary GLC on SE-52 column,FID detector and nitrogen carrying gas were used during analysis. Period of analysis is 70 minutes and very good seperation is achieved. Amount of fatty acids in the saponified part of sesame oil obtained by soxhelet extraction is given in table 6. Table 6: Amount of Fatty acids in Saponified part of Sesame Oil. Quantity of unsaponified matter was determined according to USP XXII and was found to be 0,94 % w/w. Microscopical studies revealed that sesame seed is composed of oily testa and cotyledon but has no endosperm. Key Words: Sesame, Sesamum indicum L., Fatty acids, Sesamolin.
