Özet
Criticism is defined as the sort of literature which directs the art and the artist towards the better and more beavtiful. Besides, to criticize is to give a chace to the artist, who believes he has achieved the good, the beautiful and the truth, in order that he reealvates his work and art by providing him a different point of view. The critic states his views on the literature and the art within his criticism. And this is a very important aspect of the progress of the art and literature. The aim of this study is as well to state the critcism made during the National Literature era and the contribution of these criticisms to Turkish Literature. Ö. Seyfettin, Ali Canip, Ziya Gökalp, Kazım Nami, Akil Koyuncu, Enis Avni, Hakkı Süha and Celal Sahir were the main characters to de fend The New Language movement, which had originated with "Genç Ka lemler Dergisi" in 1911. The authers and poets of this era began to estab lish a national literature by simplifying the language at first. They called this language simplifacition movement as The New Language. They defen ded this movement completely both in their articles and the works they had brougt up. The poetry, novels, theatres and stories written with the national language, as the writers of The Young Pens Journal named it, reached in a short time to public, thus to its aim. The National Literature era has a great importance in the establishment of Turkish literature for both the views it generated and the authers and poets of it, and books as well.
