Özet
Çorum fought with heart and soul for reaching success in National Struggle between the years of 1918 - 1939 as was in whole Anatolia. It attracted notice with both soldier support sent to front line and logistic support it provided. Furthermore, Çorum resisted against the rebellions occurred in its surrounding and objected to TBMM (Turkish Grand Naional Assembly) and thus, in a sense it prevented these rebellions to reach Ankara, which is center of National Struggle. Having justified proud of the victory won, Çorum tried to orientate with the innovations coming with the revolutions carried out and new regime as of the proclamation of Republic and became a significant part of political, cultural and structural construction taking place in the country. The main share of the actualization of this construction was that cooperation between officers assigned and the people of Çorum. Attitudes and characters of these people against life were reflected on the appearance of the region. Çorum faced all development phases together with Turkey in II World War; succeeded in coping with the problems arising from these phases by using regional opportunities and actualized modernization coming by the developments with patriotic works of the people maintaining its freshness in the memory of the city even today.
