Ergenlik döneminde stresle başa çıkma: Stresle başa çıkma programının geliştirilmesi ve etkinliğinin değerlendirilmesi

Stress has been an important problem in the modern life by variousreasons and numerous studies are being done on coping with stressrecently. Adolescence is a period that increases stresfully events bydevelopmental characteristics and complexity of life.The purpose of this study is to develop and investigate theeffectiveness of the psychoeducational program designed for adolescentsthat was developed in the perspective of Stresss Inoculation Trainingapproach, on coping with developmental stress in educational settings,coping style and stress symptoms levels.A total of 14 students, 7 for experimental group and 7 for control groupfrom Ankara Fen Lisesi on the academic year 2001-2002 were participatedthe study. In the experimental group, a SIT (Stress Inoculation Training)program was applied as 10 weekly sessions. In this process, there was noapplication in the control group. ?Coping with Educational Stress Scale?,?Stress Symptoms Checklist? and ?The Ways of Coping Inventory? wereadministered as the time pre-test, post-test and follow-up measurement.Additionally, a form was used for gathering sosyo-demografical and personalinformation.The data were analysed by applying in ANOVA of 2X3 split-plotdesign. The group differences were examined by Tukey test. The level ofsignificant of differences was accepted as .05.The results demostrated that the participants in the experimentalgroup, coping with educational stress levels scores and affective-behavioralsubscale scores were significantly increased and withdrawal coping stylescores were significantly decreased compared to the control group.233In the context of the stress symptoms levels it is found that theprogram was only effective in situational conditions. In the generalization ofthe conclusions that the psychoeducational program which was developed inthe perspective of SIT on coping with developmental stress in educationalsettings is found effective espacially on emotional-behavioral dimensions.As a conclusion that this program can be seen as an effectivepsychoeducational program on coping with stress in educational settings.And also this program is appropriate for being developed on both its contentand process.Key Words: Adolescence, coping with stress, stress symptoms, stressinoculation training, psychoeducational program.
