The aim of this study is to evaluate the depth of necrosis in soft tissue and bone tissue histopathologically, which is formed by the liquid nitrogen using spray form and contact probe at different time intervals. 15, male, adult, white, New Zelland rabbits ,weighing 3-4.5 kg was used in the study. The cryogen was used on the left and right tibias and on the back of the rabbits. By using sprey applicator and contact probe, liquid nitrogen was delivered to the related sites as 30 seconds, 60 seconds and 120 seconds. The process was repeated 5 times for every applicator and every time intervals. Animals were terminated after waiting for the necrosis to be seen microscopically for 48 hours. Specimens taken were followed up for the evaluation. In the statistical evaluation of the data deriven from the study, there is no statistical difference in necrosis depth on soft tissue and bone tissue for each 30, 60 and 120 seconds application time, but spray application is found to be effective than contact probe in clinical evaluation.
