Malign meme tümörlü köpeklerde operatif girişime ek olarak uygulanan immunoterapi ve homeopatinin etkisi
Özet
65 SUMMARY The effect of homeopathy and immunotherapy applied together with the operation on malign mammary tumours of the dog. The objective of the present study was to research the effects of immunotherapoetic and homeopathic treatment applied together with the operation on the formation of new masses in dogs with malign mammary tumours. The histories of the bitches used in the study were taken, general examination has been done, the clinical identification of the mass has been carried out according to the TNM ( Tumour, Nodule, Metastasis) classification which was advised bt World Health Organization and the lung metastasis was examined with radiography. Carsinoembrionic antigen (CEA) has been evaluated as a tumour marker in the pretreatment period. Then the animals were seperated into three groups randomly, In the 1* group, Theranekron injections have been done preoperatively for three times at one week intervals. Then the masses were extripated with complete unilateral mastectomie technique and the injections were repeated at the first and fifth month of postoperative period. In the 2nd group, Baypamun solution has been applied for two days before the operation, then comple unilateral mastectomie has been carried out, the injections were repeated at the 1st, 3rd, 5th, ** days, following the 1st, 2nd, 3rf, 4&, 5th, 6th months of postoperative period. In the control group, only complete unilateral mastectomie has been carried out. The carsinoembrionic antigen values of the bitches of each groups have been evaluated at the 1st and 6th months after the operation. The mammary glands have been examined monthly for new masses. The lungs and regional lymph nodes have been checked every three months for metastasis.66 Twenty-one of 30 dogs used in the study were Terrier and 13 cases of this breed were malign mikst tumour and 8 were adenocarsinom. The 30 bitches were between 6 and 13 years of age, but average was 8.7 years. Nineteen cases of 30 bitches were malign mikst tumour and 1 1 were adenocarsinom. The diameters of the primary tumours of 10 cases were more than 5 cm, 15 were between 3 - 5 cm and 5 were less than 3 cm In the eight often cases in which the diameters of the primary tumours were more than 5 cm, it has been observed that the masses were infiltrated to the surrounding tissue and the ipsilateral lymph nodes were contaminated. For the cases with the tumour less than 3 cm, the lymph node involvement was not determined. In the Theranekron group, new tumour formation has not been observed for 8 months of postoperative period. In this group, the masses of 1 - 3 cm diameter which were on the other chain of mammary glands that has not been extripated, have become smaller and firmer. Besides, the lymph node involvements observed on the first examination were regressed. In the Baypamun group, the new tumour formations have been determined on 3 cases of 10 animals. The masses on the other chain of mammary glands that has not been extripated have become bigger. The lymph node involvements observed on the first examination were regressed. In the control group in which the dogs were treated only with comple unilateral mastectomie the new tumour formations have been observed in 6 cases of 10 dogs and the lung metastasis were determined in 2 cases.
