Based on Haza Kitabu Esrari'n-nücum ve Havvas named on astrology text, this Ph.D dissertation is a research on language (Research, Text, Index) and consists of 5 chapters titled Introduction, Study, Text, General Index and Proper Names Index.The Introduction section depicts general information about the scientific field in which the text belongs. It attempts to display the stages and development of the scientific language of Turkish; the progress of the Turkish scientific language since the 13th century. This historical text has been especially tackled to portray the general linguistic characteristics of Turkish scientific language mainly in the Ottoman era.The Study section examines and classifies the spelling, phonetic and structural properties and vocabulary of the text in detail. The language of the text has provided us with new findings in Turkish linguistics and vocabulary. This dissertation has aimed at further establishing and developing Turkish scientific language. Besides the topics that have been discussed, phonological issues carrying historical importance have also been exemplified.In the Text section, the text has been transcribed into new Turkish in accordance with Turkish transcription rules. The study exerts specific methods deployed in previosly conducted studies. The vocabulary in the text has been examined cautiously and in detail, and each word has been read in relation to its context in the text. A range of vocabulay has been utilized while translating the text with the aim to avoid the possibilty of incorrect reading.The Index section is separated into two parts; ?the general index? and ?the proper names index? parts respectively.. The proper names index consists of `People?s Names Index?, `Place Names Index?, `Astrology Terms Index? and, `Chronology Terms Index?. The index chapter in the work has been constructed in reference to research on grammatical indexes. Vocabulary examined is listed systemically in accordance with the semantics and affixes. Moreover, compound words and verbs, repetitions and foreign phrases used in the text have each been presented as indented entries in the index.
