Modern Suriye hikâyesinde konu (1946-1967)

This study addressing the subjects have been handled in modern Syrian story, was limited between 1946 when Syria acquired its independece and 1967 when the Arab-Israeli war took place. This period was a period in which story came to the forefront compared to other kinds in Syrian literature and showed improvement.This study consists of one introduction and two parts. In the introduction, information about the subject and purpose of the study was provided. Also a brief information about the recent political history of Syria during the last century was given. In the first part, the emergency and development course of modern story in Syria was discussed and the factors influencing the emergence of story since the first pioneer works was encountered in the middle of the 19th century. In the second part, the main topic was handled which is the subjects have been handled in modern Syrian story between 1946 and 1967.The post-independence period (1946) in which interest in narrating had increased, was a milestone in story. During this period, story came to the front place as an expression instrument in reaching political and social goals in the turbulent atmosphere of the country. Story was preferred in the environment of ideological cliques, intellectual struggle and political conflicts as a result of the political and social conditions of the country, because of its structure suited to give messages with a propaganda purpose. After the independence of Syria, on one hand the social change seen under the influence of modernization and development boom and on the other hand many different topics such as love of country, Palestine problem, the problems of women, love, generation clash, feodal structure, personal problems and superstitions are handled in story because of political crises and instability.
